Resident Evil Zero, a prequel to the iconic Resident Evil, takes you back to the chilling events in the Arklay Mountains. Players control Rebecca Chambers, a S.T.A.R.S. medic, and Billy Coen, a convicted criminal, who must work together to survive. The unique Partner Zapping System allows you to switch between characters to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. While the pre-rendered backgrounds are beautifully detailed and the atmosphere is suspenseful, the tank controls and inventory management can feel clunky. The puzzles can be overly reliant on backtracking, and the story is less engaging than the original. However, Resident Evil Zero offers a solid survival horror experience for fans of the series who appreciate the classic style.
