Nice game and was sent by somebody, but i retired really cuz its hard but may play in the future.

For my introduction to the franchise, it was pretty rough. I felt like megaman, the difference is that the beating they gave me will never go away from my mind.

I feel like galaga, but on steroids. You kill enemies while you dodge like a sick person and farm points to have more lives. As I said, it's hard, but the game has a balanced difficulty, so it feels like a clean progression, even with its 6 level duration.

I only have 2 problems with this game, which in fact are constant, that is, they remain throughout the rest of the games.
Collision: of all games of this type, in this one the hitbox is not visible (that is, the character's weak point). Clearly it becomes more difficult when dodging, because the shots graze the character, that is, heart-stopping scares. Furthermore, the exact point where you can die is not known, which can lead to somewhat unfair deaths.
Bad ending: if you use continues, you screwed up, simple as that. Even if you finish the game, the bad ending will come out. It is a somewhat dirty resource to increase the length of the game, which is already difficult enough. Additionally you are not allowed to save replays if you use them.
(From what I understand, this detail was removed from the ninth or tenth game, thank goodness.)

Otherwise, it's pretty good. Easy to understand controls, acceptable graphics, high but balanced difficulty and a simple plot.
Oh, I forgot the music...
I have never fallen in love with a soundtrack so quickly. It's enough for me to listen to it for a few seconds to say, "ufff, what a gem." This aspect is another constant, which is really appreciated.

EoSD was a good "reboot" for the franchise, since from then on it began a rise, where the problems were fixed little by little, and consolidating itself in its own genre, being the best known in its niche.

This game was pretty fun at first, but it got kinda boring eventually. For the majority of this game, you'll go through this

Stage 1: seeing the onslaught of bullets coming your way
Stage 2: freaking out cause you dont know what to do
Stage 3: eventually managing to avoid the bullets
Stage 4: taking a sigh of relief

rinse and repeat.

The music is goated though

Will I ever be sure that this was the first Touhou game ever tried? Probably not. But I'll convince myself that it was just to say: banger.
