5-star collection, no prob gg. provided me with my first experiences of the final mixes of KH1, KH2, and BBS; also the first time I actually beat RE:COM. all remastered in HD-- what more could a boy ask for? one thing actually: full 358/2 game would have been great, but that would have also probably come with Re:Coded full game-- and we wouldn't want that would we?
will likely return at some point in my life due to my love of the franchise and the completionist in me wanting to 100% and get all achievements, but for now this chapter of my long drawn out series replay and journey to finally playing KH3 is complete. onto 2.8 (soon).

BBS and KH2 make this a 5/5 alone. Overall worthwhile package of games.
KH1 became an instant classic for me after beating it. The worlds are great except for little mermaid and the combat is simple but still really combative. The final boss was hell for me but made me feel super cool for beating.
Rechain is a very different game. I had dropped the game after getting 10 hours in because I wanted to move on with the story without the frustration of the bullshit bosses. Besides the bosses, I was able to get the hang of the combat system and it made for some really cool battles. I will come back to this game one day.
358/2 is depression core. My fellas are going through it in this one. Also the game provides a lot of context for KH2 in regards to Roxas.
KH2 is phenomenal. A huge step up from KH1 with a combat system that feels so smooth and sexy. The worlds are better, the characters grow, etc. The story is basically just the organization gaslighting Sora.
BBS - I LOVE THIS GAME SO FUCKING MUCH. Playing through every episode felt fresh because each world reserved an act of the story for each episode. I personally love the Sonic Heroes styled structure. The command deck is also really awesome and fun to play too. It's slower than KH2's combat but by no means does that make it worse. There's still a good combat flow. The characters are also really charming and sibling like. Protect them at all costs.
Recoded - honestly skipped and watched a recap on YT

A series full of magic and joy, the first game is quite difficult even on normal difficulty, the second game is much more decent and introduces very beautiful elements and a seemingly more open world. Chain of Memories is a 1 to 1 copy of the first game, only this time you use cards to beat enemies. Birth by sleep feels like a port of a PSP game even if I can't have high expectations, the world feels quite small and empty unfortunately, but they are interesting enough to keep you busy considering that you have 3 stories different ways to try to understand the whole story of the game. There are also the 2 films Re:coded and 358/2 Days. 358/2 days presents the character from the beginning of the Kingdom Hearts 2 game and you can get an idea of his story, to better understand his origins, as for Re:Coded it is more of a review of the events that happened in the Kingdom Hearts games 1 and 2. All in all, a wonderful series, but you have to have a lot of patience if you want to understand the whole story and how it is connected, because it is quite complex, not being a classic Disney narrative.
KH1: Really fun action RPG (especially if you are a big fan of Final Fantasy and Disney). I think it aged pretty decently and the only mechanic that is completely awful is the spaceship traveling.
KH Chain of Memories: The card game mechanic is really weird but if you give it a chance it gets fun once you get it. There are some really challenging bosses.

Great games all around, played when i was a kid and still return to play kh2 and bbs just for the gameplay
the story overall is not a mess like the internet wants you to believe, it's just long...and long stories like that is not really common on gaming
the sound design is overall top tier, some of the songs will make you cry in pain/joy, and you will remember them for a long time after you beat the games.
the art direction is good in most games, not a masterpiece, but it does the job
a shame that some of the games were turned into a cutscene/movie, wish i could play days on a remake or even the original game ported to ps4/5 but that game is lost to time sadly
overall the HD remakes are good, they do what they set out to do and it works.
9.5/10
