I don't normally sit down to play sports games, but very few managed to hook me quite like Captain Tsubasa Vol. II: Super Striker. This is easily my favorite sports game on the Famicom, easy to play and understand but hard to master. Even when you do lose against the computer you still level up and have a slightly better chance at winning the next game so there is incentive to keep on playing and eventually beat the game. I couldn't recommend this more than enough.

back in the day a $1 store next door was selling SNES cartridges for dirt cheep directly imported from some asian market, one cartridge contained multiple games but they were in their domestic language and i didn't know what i was doing but still played the shit out of it

The basic stuff from the first Tsubasa game is here; you’ve basically got a big game of Blitzball going on. There’s a lot more going for this version though, especially since you can actually see other players now!@#% And apparently there’s a lot more plot, that is, a lot more I had to fast forward through before I could actually play the game. Naturally, if you had to pick which Tsubasa Famicom game to play, I’d pick this one. So there.
