You say Fred Ward I Say Remo Williams: the adventure begins.

The most broken game in pc gaming history
I really liked the concept and overall the game but game wont let me play it.
It crashes every hour. I fix one problem, then another problem appears.
I played for about ten hours, but most of the time I was trying to fix the game.
By the ninth chapter, the game was crashing at every cutscene. I downloaded many saves and tried to play. But after the 21st crash in the ninth episode, I lost all patience for this game
Just don't buy this garbage port. I can't believe the developers actually sold this broken game.

I haven't gotten to the police station yet. I just spend hours driving around listening to york talk to himself

I'd give this game a higher rating since I did find the underlying gameplay enjoyable, but it crashed so many times on me that it severely hampered my enjoyment of it.

I really wish it would have maintained the "so bad its good" vibe for the entirety of the game, sadly only the first 1/3 of the game gave me that feeling

Some of the best characters of all time and also a game that sometimes works.

Deadly Premonition is often touted as a so-bad-it's-good game. I disagree. It's an excellent game that just so happens to have very jank production values. Special mention has to go to the director, Swery, and his drive to create an immersive world that he can populate with wacky, lovable characters. This guy flew from Japan to small town USA to measure the roads so he could make sure the width was just right for this game. You don't get much more dedicated than that.

That isn't to say the PC version isn't a pain in the neck to run. Make no mistake, this port is fucking terrible. But it just shows how much I loved this game that I was willing to work around the bugs, to tolerate the crashes, to set the compatibility mode to Windows 98 to get this hack job to even function. That's the magic of Deadly Premonition, and why it continues to be so beloved. What it lacks in budget, it more than makes up for in heart. In spite of all its technical flaws, the game is beautiful: hilarious, awkward, tragic - the whole rigmarole. It's as the good book says: same things that make us laugh, make us cry.

This pc version is a technical thrash. It crushes at cutscenes and stupidly makes me reset my pc. Definitely feels worse than xbox as it has texture and bit of audio issues. This "director's cut" has no difficulty option and is set to easiest by default so it is impossible to die during combat. All this breaks one star for me. Love the storytelling and suspense in this game though.
