Really awesome and super fun. Not meant to be taken seriously, the story can sometimes be really funny or super tense. Gameplay is incredible and insanely action packed.

For my entry point into the Metal Gear series as a whole, I wasn't expecting a totally over the top game with the feeling of a Saturday morning cartoon. In all seriousness though, this game is fucking fantastic. The gameplay is great, combine that with a fun story and a kickass soundtrack and it is no wonder this game is still talked about years later. That fight with Senator Armstrong, to include the buildup, is a gaming moment of all time for me. Now let's dance!

Um hack and slash de respeito, cheio de ação e com uma gameplay extremamente divertida, com diversas formas de picotear os inimigos. Possui uma trilha sonora fenomenal, em especial as dos chefes. Seus personagens para um hack ans slash são bons e carismaticos, não devendo muito para os da serie principal. Infelizmente eu acho que o jogo não lhe ensina muito bem a usar a mecanica fundamental do parry, fazendo com que o jogador possa ir até o final da metade do jogo sem usar ela e ficar preso em um chefe, podendo ser bem frustante.

Simplesmente um dos meus jogos favoritos, eu gosto de tudo desse jogo principalmente as trilhas sonoras que são muito fodas e deixam as boss fights mais épicas, queria ter platinado PS3, espero que um dia eu consiga a platina desse jogo maravilhoso

This is one of the best games i've ever played, and it also made me get into the MGS Series, which also has some of the best games i've ever played. I would french kiss Kojima himself if this ever gets a sequel (which it wont, and doesn't need to, but i just want an excuse to smooch Kojima).

I have a complicated relationship with this game. In a total vacuum it kicks total ass, and it's so sick. The story is surprisingly great, the gameplay is a ton of fun, and the soundtrack is one of the best. That being said, when it's put with the rest of the series, I have some serious issues with it. For one, I feel like it really ruins Raiden's character arc from MGS2 and 4. The entire point of his character was to grow into his own person, with his own convictions, beliefs and will, and in this game the ending just puts him back to square one, deciding to continue Armstrong's legacy rather than his own. Also, it's kind of become a plague on the fandom. It's way too overmemed to not being funny anymore, and a ton of people have only played this game and not the actual MGS series, which is just a huge shame.

This game would be incredible if it was just a boss rush game, but it's bogged down by the regular levels. The combat could also have some more depth to it.

combat is so creative it feels like you playing a mortal kombat character with the variety of moves and combos you can do.
this game's story is a bit on the weak side in my opinion it feels it goes really well until the monsoon fight when the story reaches its peak, and than it juat kinda fell off, but that's the only problem i have with this game and its very minor.
every game studio needs to look at this game and think where did we go wrong

I'm impressed by how good this game is but it's probably just platinum games.
it's got so much going for it, but i don't see myself really wanting to play it more than once. also the DLC campaigns are bad!
half a star off because WHAT WAS THAT DIFFICULTY SPIKE AT THE END I BEAT ALL THE BOSSES FIRST TRY AND THEN ARMSTRONG TOOK LIKE 20 ATTEMPTS but it's still very good

I love the story and its presentation, and even the soundtrack has its moments. I never understood the gameplay, though — one of those games where none of the moves appear to be different at all. I have seen others demonstrate stylish play, though, so I could be wrong.
