Really fun - one of the best games you can get for free on mobile. Pretty tough - I've still never made it to the end after years of playing it on-and-off - but I never gave up permanently. Huntress mains rise up
Now this is a good game you can play on your phone. So much of what you can find on mobile devices is either pay to win or just not good at all. Just referring to a game as a mobile game has the connotation that it's bad.
This is just a good rougelike and it's crazy that it's completely free. Really fun (and difficult) and one of the best games you can have on your phone that is not an emulator.

surprisingly good roguelike
The original Pixel Dungeon took a lot of inspiration from Brogue and it was a wonderful game, Shattered took PD and made it even better. It's a mastahpiece.
Maybe the best free mobile game ever? Challenging, really deep, tons to do. Absolutely no microtransactions or ads pushed on you at all. Been getting updates for a decade. It's peak. I've never won a run and don't think I ever will but I come back to it regularly for another try.

This game will kick your ass. Brutally difficult, but still pretty fun once you get a good run going. I've only beat it once. It's maybe a bit too reliant on sneak attacks in doorways and getting leather armor early, but is still a decent time killer when you are away from a computer.
That said, it will never not be frustrating losing a good run because I stepped on a trap and got ambushed by 3 enemies or equipped a ring that ended up being cursed.
Despite that however, the fact it doesn't shove microtransactions or ads in your face already makes it better than most mobile games.

This was my first roguelike and honestly, it's one of the best. There's such a comfortable sense of adventure and whimsy to it. I love giving it a run and seeing what'll happen, and even the failures don't sting that much.
