the tokyo xtreme racer at home + what the fuck are these physics

This is less a movie tie-in and more like an earnest attempt at making a japan street racing game. Honestly, would've been excellent if it actually had good handling physics.

You can tell the devs were inspired by the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series with it's game loop and detailed rival profiles.
The environments look really pretty, with nice lighting and color palette for the cities. The roads are way too wide for Japan, but they're pretty to look at.

The handling is ass. When braking, your car enters an unwieldy 'drift' state, even with grip tires. I manage to adapt by trying to avoid drifts or make em short by throttle pumping, but steering is still weird.

The amount of aero and body kit options per car are astounding; many which are licensed, making it more impressive! The RX7 FD alone has 7 real body kits. It makes some Forza and the Need for Speed games blush. It even has the edge over some of Genki's racers. The livery editor comparable to Carbon/Prostreet. You could even stick a Namco character on the back of your car.

This is an admirable attempt for a western dev trying to make their Tokyo Xtreme Racer game with the F&F license.
