It is definitely Ubisoft open world mediocrity in a way, yet having not played a game from them in a long while, I honestly had quite a bit of fun with it. Definitely a result of the co-op which was really fun to do since we both enjoy first person shooter games, and FC5’s gunplay is honestly satisfying. The story and characters are utterly bland and worthless but that’s par for the course from Ubisoft honestly. It’s decently enjoyable and the side quests are kinda fun too, the Arcade mode also is a somewhat nice change of pace from the open world at times even though the community made maps aren’t exactly mindblowing. Can’t imagine I’d ever beat this game alone but with my girlfriend we both had a blast with blowing up outposts, hunting, gunfighting, fishing, racing etc. etc.

Good brain turn-off gaming really, if you ignored the story completely it wouldn’t remotely ruin the experience because it’s just that forgettable. Get a friend to play it with and you might have a good time with it.
