Portal 2 is basically everything I was hoping Portal 1 would be mechanically despite pacing issues. By the time you're using those silly wave teleporters and the gels and the bridges you're in the satisfying, brain-tickling puzzle sweet spot - even at the end of Portal 1, I was still longing for a bit more. I'm not much of a lorehead though so the story didn't do much for me, but I grew to care about the characters and their situation in the world somewhat by the end. good game
