[review wip]

My third Resident Evil (or fourth if i actually tried to finish Resident Evil 0, dropped because i really hate the lack of storage box and the bit complicated companion system) i've ever played and i don't regret it. It is also the beginning of Capcom's ever long struggle of creating remakes of their beloved survival horror franchise using their very own RE Engine, first used for Resident Evil 7: biohazard which had made the craze with its first take on a first person survival horror shooter, but it's not just the usual remake which just everything has to be refurbished at 1:1 detail.

Ignoring certain lore and gameplay details omitted from its original since i haven't played it (although the original keeps the fixed camera approach from the first RE, original RE2 and RE3, RE0 and Code: Veronica), Capcom learned something from the first iteration of the RE Engine since when it was used in RE7, improving upon performance, UI, graphics and refining mechanics, not to mention map navigation is one of the best info screens i've ever seen, but RE: Village goes further (and i'll see it later on) and really ingenious level design that was kept up since the first Resident Evil (and its remake which is closely the same game)... and the usual, short and simple dialogue.

After finishing the game in two different runs (which i highly recommend it), i find this remake to be pretty solid despite its missing flaws, with some extra game modes intended for challenge, in which however i do not feel quite the desire to play them.
