Years ago I played this game on the Master System because people in Europe love that game so much. I really really hated it. I thought maybe liking Psycho World after giving it another try, it would be the same for this game. Playing it on the Game Gear this time and nope, not at all. Ok well I do like it a little more but I still dislike it.

This is just a very basic platformer but the controls just feel a little off to me, there's something about it that never makes me feel comfortable doing the tougher platforming. The hammer also has a weird hitbox and it's slow unless you have full health. You can also get this flying disc in later levels but you can only throw one at a time.

Level design is just unmemorable and sometimes has annoying enemy placement. Also that pyramid level is not fun. The game is at least generous with item pickups and you can even jump on enemies which is nice. The game's bosses are pretty easy and even the final boss goes down with zero challenge.

Lucky Dime just isn't a fun game and it's at best an unremarkable Game Gear game. Really don't see what people love about this one, maybe I'm just in the wrong here. Also I noticed on Sega Retro it says you can lose your weapon, that never happened to me though in fact I even remember that happening. Oh wait that seems to be a Master System only thing. Odd. Wonder why that is?
