Part 3: Nakayoshi to Issho for Famicom
Part 4: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon R for Super Famicom

I’m going to be honest with you all, this is probably going to be one of the worst reviews I do for this series and I’m apologizing now. This is one of the few games in this series that I played for the first time for this review series and was the only Nakayoshi game I hadn’t played. I’m not going to go as deep as I try to be with previous or later reviews so think of this as a filler arc. So, this game was developed by Tom Create which we will see for some other Sailor Moon games in the future. While this isn’t a full on Sailor Moon game, it’s still the one given the most spotlight.

Welcome Nakayoshi Park is a minigame collection where you play as an unnamed girl who goes to the park and you have to complete 6 minigames and go to the castle. It won’t be too easy as I’ll talk about later. You can check what minigames you have to do by going to the map screen and pressing one of the buttons. There’s not too much to do in this park besides just play said games, there’s a couple of NPCs but barely any. You can talk to these clowns that can help you get more tickets. Minigames in this game range from stuff like finding the right person in the ferris wheel, spot the difference, repeating the same sequence, eating food (yes really), and timing punches on a guy for some reason. There are 4 Sailor Moon minigames. For Usagi’s you have to time this bar to uncover more of a photo of Sailor Moon. Mamoru’s involves trying to guess the order of the three inner Sailor Senshi as you get hints if you have the right ones and in the right order. Luna & Artemis’ require you to play this weird game where you have to eliminate pieces until one is left and lands on the moon space. Chibiusa’s has you going through a maze with an invisible barrier that can hurt you if you touch it, you’ll have to find her twice to win.

Now I wanna point out that there is no english translation for this game meaning I had to get through this game and just hoped there was no road block and thankfully there wasn’t for the most part. Now there is one problem that I wanna explain. You see, I was just wanting to explore everything and try out all of the minigames so I did most of them before finishing the six I needed. One thing I was wondering throughout was what did the clock mean? I thought maybe it meant something but I couldn’t be sure. About when I was gonna be done, I noticed the timer was gone from the UI and was confused but no matter, I got all 6 done! Soooo now what? Well I decided to check a guide and somehow never noticed I was meant to go to a castle. Alright so let’s go there and beat the ga-uhh why can’t I get in??? Why can’t I enter?! I clearly did something wrong but I didn’t know what. I went to look at the video again and noticed something, his clock was still there. It finally hit me, this game has a time limit! Sure you can walk around as much as you want but if you run out of time then you have to reset your run if you want another chance to see the end.

So alright alright, I reset and I tried again. Since I knew all of the areas I could make an optimal route. I began to also notice that doing events also takes time, 20 minutes to be exact. While time in the overworld isn’t too fast, it’s best you talk to those horse things and get a ride in a carriage to get to places faster, you can also use a train which you need to do for one area of the park. I should also point out sometimes you'll need to let some time go by so the event is open but it's not a big deal. So got it all done AGAIN and this time I learned my lesson and oh there we go now we can go inside. O-oh…that’s Usagi’s sprite?! That’s awful looking but who cares I’m here now and now this guy coming in is asking me something ok ok and now let’s fini-WHY AM I AT THE TITLE SCREEN!? What the heck could I be doing wrong now?? I know there’s supposed to be one more minigame so what could it-I forgot to get tickets, goddamnit! I forgot to even bother with that. You can’t even beat it unless you get some more tickets. So fine I used my rewind function and got some from the clowns and now I can play this game where I throw a ball at a thing and I get rewarded with an awful looking parade with the same pictures of the characters I saw already and the game ends. I can’t believe a kids game of all things got me going on a rant like this.

Graphically this game doesn't look good at all. I mean maybe there are things I’m unaware of that make this game cool but a lot of the sprites look ugly and I’m sure a lot of the good looking images were probably taken from their source material similar to what the GB Sailor Moon games already did. While you can argue it’s passable, the fact this was made in 1994 shows that licensed games were still getting little care in stuff like this. The music is also very unmemorable and honestly that doesn’t surprise me in the slightest.

Now despite what I’ve said, this is a playable at best kids game that I’m sure if you gave to a child back then and liked the source material, they’d be happy. I know some will say kids deserve better but Idk, you could do a lot worse. This game seems to have no legacy especially here that not even the Sailor Moon fans helped bring some spotlight towards the game. Like be honest with me, if you read this review because you follow me and somehow like reading my reviews, did you actually know this game existed? I would be amazed if any of you said yes as you read that. There’s just not much to say about this title besides that it’s neat seeing more of Manga style Sailor Moon which the only game left to do so is the final Nakayoshi game. Just don’t bother with this one, I can’t see anyone nowadays enjoying this unless you’re desperate to find anything Sailor Moon for video games. Next time we will be talking about Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon R for the Game Boy! Which is what I would say if there was an actual page for it on this site. Sorry people but until it one day gets one, there won’t be a review for now, I would make a page for it but I know I would somehow screw it up. So instead, time for our first game based off the third season with Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S: Kondo wa Puzzle de Oshioki yo!! for the Super Famicom! (if a page does ever happen for the R GB game I’ll probably edit this part out of the review.) See you next time and remember, The Moonlight is a Messenger of Love!
