As a game, OMORI is pretty meh in my opinion. The gameplay felt repetitive and not very engaging and it went on for a bit longer than I wished. The gameplay really isn't the games strength.

But as a narrative experience, oh BOY! OMORI has Undertale levels of funny writing and the entire story of the game is insane. It's one of the few games I have played where I think the ending is by far the best part. It left me thinking for several days, trying to piece it all together. The story has a lot of build-up, yes, but it's definitely worth it in my opinion.
