pretty much an improvement over GTA III in basically everything, in-game map is more interesting, storyline is more expansive and the main character is now voiced, more variety in weapons and vehicles, missions are more varied as well.

the music and atmosphere are fantastic.

unfortunely the game does have it's share of jank common in classic GTA games, some of the misisons are still frustating as hell but nonetheless an better game than GTA III by a mile.
