One of the most important games in both the videogame landscape and my personal life. The game is one of the most popular online games (if not the most popular) of all time for a reason. The characters are superb, the art is incredible and the esports side of the game had me making fantasy teams and discussing roster changes all day long.
Learning League is an incredible experience, it's very rewarding, its biggest flaws are the community,Riot's poor management decisions and insane power creep.
Let me start off by saying that yes, power creep is something that happens in every game, I know. But compare the newest champions to the old ones, every single new champ has some sort of dash and mini-game imbued into them. By trying to make each champion unique, riot ended up making a ton of similar feeling champs, especially due to dashes and invisibility.
I feel like Riot should be more in touch with what makes league worth playing and incentivize more teamplay instead of solo grinding, since that's the magic of League.
PLaying league with 4 random teammates might just be one of the worst experiences I've purposefully thrown myself into time and time again, but when you play with a full team of friends and you're all coordinated and strategizing together, there's nothing quite like it.
I love this game and still keep up with it, even though I don't play it much nowadays. I hope it never dies and that someday league will become the great game it deserves to be.
