I can never make my mind up about this one, a game I wanted for ~15 years and in the end that cost it massively. KH3 has decent combat and looks great graphically but it is a tad floaty and the Disney worlds, while extremely charming and very fun to explore (apart from Frozen) are just irrelevant to the whole plot and really the game could've been 10 hours instead of the 40+ that it actually is. That being said, on a higher spec console or PC it is worth the play just to experience the quality

The game was released 7 years after its predecessor, not ~15.

Kingdom Hearts II came out in 2005 and people pretty much wanted KHIII immediately after, especially due to teasers in that game (and more in Final Mix 2 years later). Given KHIII came out 14 years later in 2019, I'd say that's close enough.

(Yes, Dream Drop Distance etc came out closer, but the point is that wanting KHIII started long before that)

If what they wanted was a just the name 'kingdom hearts 3' yeah, sure, but the direct sequel (what everyone wanted immediately after) was released ~4 years after.

Kingdom hearts 3 does not advance anything from KH2 because it inst a sequel to it. The whole frist third of the game is dealing with the consequences of KHDDD, because its a direct sequel to it.

I just dont see much logic to saying its that long of a gap, too misleading.

it's really not that hard to understand why most fans see the wait for KH3 being 15 years, there's a reason why BBS and DDD aren't called KH3. Cause they arent KH3.

they are sequels to KH2. People wanted the sequel to KH2, which KH3 is not.

Why are you so hung up on such a tangential part of the review, especially when they aren’t even totally in the wrong?
