Listening to all the rapturous praise this game got makes me feel like I’m taking crazy pills because I just don’t get it. The game is beautiful, it’s got a great art style and the cutscenes are lovely, but that’s the only thing it’s got going for it. I feel like Studio Ghibli’s involvement is the only reason people liked it, because this is one of the most thoroughly mediocre RPGs I have ever played. I don’t know how anyone could’ve found this game’s battle system acceptable.
