[REVIEW FOR BOTH BLACK SOULS I AND BLACK SOULS II]

I really tried, but I got filtered by the games, I understood what this game tried to be. And I completely understand it, I think the narrative of BS1 and BS2 is extremely interesting, and it tries to orchestrate into something much bigger, which, honestly? In terms of Narrative, I think is extremely fascinating. It is one of the most unique games I ever played, and the whole "You can do whatever you want" of it is an fairly interesting take, and overall something I haven't seen before.

Although, it makes sense why this game is niche. And there is an clear reason why it will forever stay that way. It is in the end, an H-RPG. If I want to grasp at everything out of it, in some way, I have to play the game the way it truly is. And I get it, this game is meant to be the sort of RPG that'll make you go into this whole "rabbit hole" of ordeals... But I feel like that alot of things, just alot of things could've been improved on.
I gave this game multiple chances, and completed it. I still think the narrative by far, is extremely interesting. I just wish it wasn't Black Souls. This game is an heavy mixed bag for me, and I feel like that it could have been more... Or perhaps, I should say, it should've been less. The sexualisation was too much, although for some times it was used to be genuienly striking, and just an way to convey the free right you have in this messed-up world. But in the end, what did I expect, truly? It's an H-RPG from dlsite. The problem with me wasn't with the heinous acts, it was simply with the sexualisation of it. The sexualisation, and perversion of it disgusted me. Maybe, just maybe if the characters weren't designed like strippers the point would've been more striking towards me, if it got rid of all of it, I would've praised this game. Being shown the scenes to me, isn't a problem. It never was.

Black Souls as a whole is what I would call something that was close to an work of art, but in my opinion, got ruined by simply being an H-RPG. It tried to both have sexualisation, while still trying to convey it's dark, and genuienly good narrative. But I just can't take it seriously.

Black Souls, you could have been so much more, and if one day, an game like this gets released, and just removes all the anime oversexualisation (Which I think even the biggest Black Souls fan can agree. Some characters were intentionally designed to just make you get off to it. You can overlook those and say it's still overall good, which is, sure. But I think that point is undeniable.

And no, oversexualisation, and showing those heinous acts aren't the same thing. (An example I'd like to give is Fear & Hunger, Fear & Hunger shows plenty of those things, SA and all that shit, and while it may be shock value, lazy or not it doesn't matter. It's not my point right now, Fear & Hunger shows those things, but you don't feel like as if it was made for someone to get off to it.)

Maybe I'm just overanalyzing in the end, an porn game with some pretty glitter. But in reality, I'm just saddened that I can't have an Black Souls II, without it being an Black Souls II.

know next to nothing about aew, the game is ok i guess.

Black souls 1
3/5
Black souls 2
5/5

Black Souls 1 was very good, Black Souls 2 was almost perfect, highly recommend

Very enjoyable RPG Maker Game, highly underrated! Just turn off 18+ scenes and enjoy the HEAVY story for demonkind and slave FREEDOM >:D

(and the wholesome romance story between Deathpolca and Lily 💗)

A great exploration of conflict and how prejudice towards a specific group can prevent understanding of one another. It has many glaring issues but the sheer passion and heart seeping out of every pore of it makes up for it tenfold. So many moments are executed with the utmost of sincerity that I can't help but just feel enamored by it.

The cast is also surprisingly well written with Deathpolca and Diana being the most standout. Deathpolca is an excellent protagonist that is perfect for the kind of story this is. Diana is one of my favorite JRPG party members ever with an incredibly strong character arc that had a cathartic conclusion. The rest of the cast are no slouches too with them being very endearing and having great dynamics. The weak link of the casts are sadly the antagonists but the Emperor and another one I shall not name are pretty good.

The way it functions as a prequel to King Exist is also unlike anything I've ever seen. This is a very uniquely executed prequel.

The one true flaw of the game that I can't ignore is definitely the gameplay and overall world design being boring. It is not very fun to play sadly, and when compared to other RPGM games such as Black Souls, it falls flat in this aspect for me.

I love Deathpolca so much.

King Exit translation when.

First wwe 2k game I've played in years and they haven't really advanced much. They added mygm but it's just a bit too much for me and I would have appreciated a simpler gm mode like in the svr series. The new matches like war games are pretty fun but the stiff gameplay is a bit frustrating to go through plus the game glitches out for no reason making me restart a match or the whole game crashes for no reason. It's ok if you like simulation stuff but it still needs to improve massively for me to geniuently enjoy it.
