I think this game did alot of things well. The music was very enjoyable, the combat was fun when the pins worked and the story for the first week of the game was very fun. Past that point the story was nowhere near as good, though. Joshua was just an edgy pessimist and unlike Neku, he was annoyingly smug about that fact the whole time. Beat was alright overall but was nowhere near as good as Shiki's week, I don't really have much to say about him. None of the boss reapers stood out much aside from Sho, he was pretty funny and finding him dead under a fridge made me laugh. The smaller side characters like the reaper band and the ramen guy were pretty fun too. I feel like the story would have been much better if Joshua had recieved even the slightest comeuppance for his actions but I'm probably wrong. I also didn't really agree with the story's message of changing how your personality to suit the people around you just to avoid being alone something it reinforces with the trend system, where wearing certain pin brands affects your damage output based on people's opinion and while you can keep wearing the same pins and make them popular, it just shows that not changing to what people want just for the advantages is more difficult and requires constant effort. The system of lowering your level to grind faster was fantastic and helped keep the game fun later on. Overall I think the gameplay is pretty great but the story was lacking in alot of places.
I'm sorry that this review is probably wrong in alot of places and about as well structured as a GITCY video, I've never posted a review this long before.
