This review contains spoilers
The Good:
- Fantastic visuals
- Very effective sound design
- Great puzzles
The Ok:
- Not much
The Bad:
- Not much
Conclusion:
Inside is a rather substantial improvement upon Limbo in just about every way for me. The visual style is gorgeous, with fantastic audio cues to meet it. The death animations weren’t nearly as annoying as Limbo, and (more importantly) I wasn’t frustrated at all with the story. It was cool, and made sense after a bit of internet browsing. As for the puzzles, I have mostly nothing but praise. I was consistently hit every 30 minutes with a particularly hard one that felt really rewarding to solve, and I only had to look up the solution to one of them (that dang force blast windmill thing was annoying). Overall, Inside is a great time.
