lots of feelings with this one.
tl;dr: one of the best in the series

i had been putting off this one for a while because i didn't really want to see kiryu's story end, but i finally decided it was time to play it. the story in y6 was nearly everything i hoped it would be: an ending to kiryu's story with haruka and a complete acknowledgement of their father/daughter relationship.

i saw coming that kiryu wouldn't be allowed to finally get what he wanted the most, a peaceful life with haruka and her son, but the ending still tore me up on how hard of a pill his final decision was to swallow. still very a very fitting ending for them nonetheless, and one that will now make me sad every time i see this dude's face on my shelf

the new cast in onomichi was stellar (honorable mention to takeshi kitano's role, greatly enjoyed that one) and i ended up liking pretty much all of them, with the only thing i'm missing being a few more of the old cast appearances

this game retroactively made the entire series better for me, as i now see it as a complete journey for kiryu and stories about how he can't ever be truly happy because of a past he can't get rid of.

i'm reticent to start yakuza 7 now, with the changes in gameplay and protagonist and all (i really wish they had taken the dragon engine for another spin with the beat-em up style, maybe they could've done something amazing with it, but what can you do).

good game
