One of the best JRPG's of the PS1 generation remade into one of the best JRPG's of the PS4 generation. Midgar becomes a fully realized place, the stories of Cloud, Tifa, Aeirth, and Barrett are well realized and fleshed out. You get a much better sense of scale then the original game.

The story is a well crafted mix of old and new, for certain a bit of Tetsuya Nomura meddling with its more convoluted plot structure but it's at it's core an amazing experience.

The only reason it's not a 5/5 is because there is noticeable quality shifts from chapter to chapter. Chapter 4, 8, 9 being the highlights where you really get a feel for this new version of Midgar. While chapters 10, 11, and 5 end up feeling a bit like filler content.
