It's not nearly as good as the original, but the story is still pretty good for modern standards and at least it provides some closure to the overarching narrative.
The gameplay is alright if you like caving people's faces in with a police baton and stacking corpses with rag-doll physics. You don't have many other options since you can't even lean anymore, stealth was severely nerfed.
Furthermore, the atrocious loading times on release are all but gone in a modern computer. However, the game is still prone to crashing.
3 stars is probably too generous, but I'm biased. I really like some of the story elements and gameplay choices for this game, it's just that they removed so many aspects of what made the original great that it hardly even feels like Deus Ex unless JC is on screen.
