A rather slow paced, fully three dimensional space RTS. It reminded me of Dune a little bit because the protagonists live in a desert planet that sounds like "Arrakis", but that's it. That's more like a reference than inspiration.
The Homeworld 1 remaster doesn't have the same ridiculously well crafted mechanics for dog fighting and collisions, opting instead for the probability based system of Homeworld 2. Obviously this has some advantages, but not enough of the game was changed to accommodate for this and it shows. Many elements such as formations are rendered redundant. It's still good though, only a bit disappointing.
The Homeworld 2 remaster in the other hand is much more truthful to the original and I enjoyed it a lot more. It's truly an excellent game and it accomplishes a lot with comparatively little exposition. I love the music too.
I totally recommend this game to anyone who likes RTS. This remaster (which is more like a remake to be honest) also comes with the originals.
