I think Obscure II is worth playing if you liked the first one, but it's inferior to the original in several aspects. There's less exploration, fewer firearms and now character deaths depend on the story, not the player's actions. This is important because playable characters in Obscure have skills so if you lost one in the first game you might be locked off certain items for the rest of the playthrough and also the best ending.
As a result the game feels less tense and the atmosphere is worse in general.
