Let's be honest, this game is retarded. The mechanics have the depth of a puddle and the characters are anime stereotypes.
That being said, it's still an improvement over the first one in pretty much every aspect. The extra character during combat specially makes an important difference.
Also, sometimes you need to play a dumb, cheery game. That's just the way things are sometimes.
