This game is the definition of mediocre. It's basically one of those Batman Arkham games with a thin coat of "Lord of the Rings" licensing and a story that's so bad a 12 year old could have written it. Every Hollywood action movie cliché is accounted for.
I can't even say it's outright bad, it's just generic and mediocre. I think it actually takes a special kind of talent to design something like this based on the Tolkien literary universe.
Also, the single aspect about this game that stands out, the nemesis system, got patented so no other game series can have it. That was probably the right choice for a commercial standpoint because these games are nothing without it, but it's terrible for the medium.
