Seeing this series move to PS4 from PS Vita is crazy, visual flair, nice overall aesthetics, UI being less static and bland, and a way bigger open area to explore that expands based on latitude. Story begins taking itself way more seriously which caught me off guard when it started showing itself more and more as you progressed. Kat is still the same charming character that is not barred to surface level/bare bones character development so its really nice to see how she interacts with the world environment and story. all these positives aside i can't help but be disappointed in certain elements in this game that can almost ruin the overall experience, especially if you are impatient with the unsatisfying at times gameplay. playing on a controller is definitely its own QOL improvement on its own and the updated system to how Kat can gain new abilities is nice but all these falter when things, such as your projectiles being easily blocked by the slightest small barrier and enemy immunity from attacks not having some sort of visual or audio queue, exist in the game as well. it's even worse when the game adds new gameplay mechanics that are very poorly designed because the instructions and directions in game are not made clear. all things said if this game didn't sweep me with its storytelling, amazing soundtrack, beautiful graphical approach, i would have for certain dropped it but as it stands it remains one of the most unique games i have played with certainty. it's a genuine shame the studio who have made this have been disbanded i would have loved to seen them make another sequel
