This killed all the love i had for the previous game 😂 the problem with both infinite and burial at sea is that it’s so incredibly ambitious yet it goes nowhere with it or kevin levine is not at all equipped with tackling concepts such as infinite universes 😂 infinite had loads of problems that kept on stacking on top of itself as the game progressed and delve deeper into its themes, especially when it foolishly decided that its previous themes of revolution and oppression werent as interesting as whatever bullshit was up with infinite universes. Infinite has a fucking excellent start with probably my favorite first hour in a game and the last cutscene in infinite as well was beautiful with elizabeth drowning booker but then burial at sea ruins it. essentially the plot is full of extreme plot holes that leave you essentially asking what was the purpose for this? We have so many to cover, we have comstock still being alive and nullifying the base game’s ending, we have Elizabeth dying and somehow that causes her to lose her powers, we have elizabeth essentially being responsible for a lot of factors of bioshock 1 (some that even contradict bioshock 2 but we know kevin doesnt like it lol). Like the bond between the little sisters and big daddies or how atlas got the secret weapon yada yada yada. I could go on but what’s the point, this dlc fucking blows story wise, gameplay wise it actually improves on infinite but not by much. The problem is that there are a lot of stealth sequences in the game however the enemy AI is incredibly simple that it feels insulting. The world building, world design is also very very very gorgeous in episode 1. Seeing rapture in its full glory was genuinely amazing. Honestly episode 1 might’ve been one of my favorite bioshock games if it weren’t for the horrendous ending which reveals booker was comstock all along and that elizabeth was hunting the “last” comstock which contradicts the idea of infinite universe yada yada yada. Point being episode 1 is really good but then it shits the bed, episode 2 is pretty bad all around but we get great moments whenever we dont have to pay attention to the story. Also burial at sea and infinite have gorgeous soundtracks, both are 10/10
