As my first Shantae game, I was pleasantly suprised. The difficulty felt just right. I really enjoyed the platforming but the bosses kinda chugged. Honestly they were more like puzzles than bosses trying to figure out how to damage them. My biggest gripe with the game is the lack of checkpoints during long rooms. One touch of a spike or one fall in a pit sends you back a long way. For a modern game, the lack of QOL was disappointing. The music was extremely bangin though, props to Jake Kaufman! Loved the experience overall and i'm excited to try another Shantae game!
