Square Enix is like, oh hey remember DioField Chronicle? Remember Triangle Strategy? Yeah, just kidding, here's the real one lol

Since you played LUCT on PSP, are the changes significant enough that it'd be worth checking out the first remake, or is Reborn the definitive experience with little to no asterisks

That's really tough. I'll write a real review at some point and go into detail about my feelings but the short answer is that they are entirely different games when it comes to the behind the scenes character growth and battle skills/spells systems. This one is massively simplified and streamlined, but not dumbed down, so don't read that as a criticism. It just works a lot more smoothly and trims fat. So I guess it depends on what you're playing the game for. If you value the story and the aesthetics, play the old one because the look is still better and there's no anime-ass DioField-ass voices. And if what you like about RPGs is extreme detail and control over every facet of your characters, the ability to break the game, and generally complex design, also play the original. But if you want the smoothest possible modernized, very well-balanced and well-thought-through gameplay experience, play this one (and of this is your first time, I beg you to turn the voices off).
