To get it out of the way: Yes, the netcode sucks. Delay based netcode in 2022 is an insane move and I don't blame anyone who skips this game because of it, it is a smart and valid decision. If you mainly play fighting games online and that's all you care about, don't even think about getting this game. It will be a waste of your time and money.

I love this game. I was a big fan of the original PS3 release years ago and this remaster improved upon it so much that I can actually enjoy this as a fighting game fan now as well. They removed the dull story and garbage campaign modes in favor of the All-Star Battle mode which makes unlocking costumes/colors/misc gallery items much easier and less stressful. ASB Mode isn't amazing but it is a significant step up from the modes it replaces.

The new characters are all very interesting in varied but the changes to mechanics is where my praises for this game really shine. Learning combos with this roster is incredibly fun and the experimentation is something else. I'm lucky enough to have an active group of offline friends to play with and it is a blast to play offline, especially if your group is full of JoJo fans.

The game has been out for less than a month at the time of this review and I already have more than 40+ hours put into this. I can't stop hopping back on and beating ass with my Kira in the terrible online mode and unlocking more costumes that warm my JoJo-loving fanboy heart. If you have an offline scene and/or you are a fan of this series, you owe it to yourself to give this a spin.
