Although I haven't played the original game, I saw some comparisons and can say this one is a pretty good remake.
SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy are the 3 playable characters and each one has their own distinctive mechanics. I enjoyed playing Sandy the most, although I also loved SpongeBob's rocket-launching mechanic as well.
Overall I loved the visuals, gameplay, mechanics, boss fights, everything! I'd say the only negative thing I have to point out about this game is the fact that we cannot change the key bindings, but since the gameplay itself can be simple, it's easy to memorize the stuff.
