This game goes so hard it's not even funny. I go on my rant about games not ever really letting players have a proper power trip without completely overwhelming odds and OH MAN this is that power trip. The combat is fast and lets you stay in absolute control thanks to a charge attack that acts both as your guard and as your means to close distance. The enemies can be tossed around like pinballs, and your mech can lift tons with ease, throwing shipping containers at enemies with absolute calm.

The weakest point of the game is its shoot-em-up levels, which still stand out thanks to a sort of lance-kick that means you don't shoot at foes...instead you're the bullet. You dash in, can slightly change the angle of that kick mid-movement, and slip between lasers as you boot bots off-screen. I consider this a hidden gem based on its plays here. If you're a mecha fan, a beat-em-up aficionado, or a PSX historian, this is a must play in my book.
