I kinda like the theory that this game is actually some sort of meta commentary on how much more rewarding being bad is, while the good guy takes unfair punishment, but that in the end, you still need to be the good guy to win. It dosent make the game fun, but that was never the point was it.

That being said, I cannot know if that was the point.
