Logging this early because I don't have time to play this even though I really want to. I'm currently at pretty early game (Genichiro[I'll kill him tomorrow got really close to killing his second phase today{Did it}]) so my opinions could differ when I finish the game.

Sekiro is a perfect mixture of what I ever wanted from a game. Like, before I played Sekiro I was completely sure that these things wouldn't work together.

Katana combat is PERFECT it's extremely responsive, buttery smooth, challenging yet not frustrating and plays like a rhythm game. I never thought that I would enjoy playing a game this much because THIS GAME LETS ME TO DEFLECT ALMOST EVERYTHING. There's no better sword/build/class or something it's only you and your eyes. You can literally fight a boss for 5 days straight because there's no such thing as grinding or getting better equipment. You want to win? then train to get better learn you opponent and perfect your moves because there's no other way. I really like this approach to the combat and this is what I really wanted and couldn't find with the souls games, everybody fight with the same conditions.

Boss fight feel hard and tight. I know that it's completely my mistake when I misclick and die in a split second. I really like the 'I need extreme precision' feeling it keeps me pinned down on my desk trying the same boss over and over again for 2 hours at midnight without even getting close to defeating them. Just to kill them next morning in my first try. It's a really refreshing feeling which I don't often get to experience in any game.

Stealth and the movement options are also extremely well done. I like how you can fight every single non main boss enemy normally or just approach them in the right way and get away without fighting. Grappling hook and jumping mechanics are fun and makes the maps fun to explore. I really like to fuck around and find weird things without looking anything online.

Will probably rewrite a review from scratch when I finish this game in the distant future till then I wanted to write some of my opinions down. Because yhe last time I enjoyed a high budget game this much I was playing mgs V and I finished that game 6 years ago.

I prefer Sekiro over Elden Ring in every possible scenario. Sorry Elden you're a pretty good game too but too slow and janky for my taste
