This new Kirby is one of Nintendo's best efforts on the Switch. The game design really shines. Like many modern platformers, there are abundance of collectibles and upgrades, but the game never feels confusing and the rewards are often satisfying. The Waddle Dee Town is one of the best hub worlds in recent memory.

The levels look and sound great, but they can be a bit predictable at times–the beach zone, the ice zone, the fire zone, etc. Enemy encounters and particularly bosses are recycled a few too many times to extend the length, especially near the end of the game.

I've been let down by some of Nintendo's first party Switch offerings, so I was surprised this game was as good as advertised. It's a great example of what Nintendo can still do when they are firing on all cylinders.
