Imo both this and Phantom Hourglass are very underrated. They both have their shortcomings, but they both offer a complete zelda experience without sacrificing anything substantial.
I think the biggest flaw in Spirit Tracks is the train traversal. Although it's incredibly cute it's definitely much more linear than a typical zelda overworld. The dungeons are a step up from PH though and the ost is one of series best.
