Thus far Senua is the most believable and compelling mo-cap performance in any medium to date. Combined with it's HUD-less, prompt-less, weighty gameplay, “Hellblade” is a haunting journey of unsurpassed verisimilitude. But it is viciously bleak to the point of contrivance, and it's mytho-poetic ambitions are at odds with its obvious desire to be a vehicle for understanding mental illness.
