When a conspiratorial story becomes truer as time passes, one can't help but wonder if some legit prophecy was involved. Even now I still vacillate between DE's three possible endings - the low-impact yet highly corruptible Illuminati ending, the drastic backwards-yet-forwards Dark Age ending, or the logical-but-hubristic Ascension ending. Precious few other games have given me moral pause, yet Deus Ex still manages this feat to the present day.
