I finally understand the hype behind this one. Although I never had a chance to play it when I was younger, I finally got around to it.
If video games could be cinema, Silent Hill 2 would be emblematic of that. It's the apex achievement of the medium that has never been matched. Imagine Resident Evil if it was thoughtful and genuinely scary. Sure, you point to Resident Evil 7, but although I adored that game, it lost its scare factor and frightening atmosphere once Ethan was able to grab a gun. It more or less feels like a product.
