This game made me feel like a kid again.

It's one of those games like Ratchet and Clank or Psychonauts where I really wish I grew up with it/ played them as a kid. Although the game is almost 25 years old at this point, the cartoon art style and simple gameplay aged beautifully. I forget how much I love rhythm games although I'm not good at them.

This is my first Parappa game and it left me a great first impression. Some of the songs like the 1st level burger guy and 3rd level ant guru songs are absolute bangers and I found myself bopping my head to many of them while playing. The story is just nonsense and I love it, random cartoon stuff like noodles taking over the world and trying to impress your crush, stuff I would see in shows I used to watch as a kid.

The game can be pretty challenging at times, the controls are not the best and so its easy to miss notes because of what I assume to be an input delay. The final act in the very last level is also stupid hard, normally a beat plays then you repeat it with the buttons shown but in this part, the button prompts pop up super quickly with no beat to follow that even if you did have the reaction time to do it, the input delay would screw you over. I had to redo this level countless times due to this, the others I had no challenge with. Although it seems impossible to get a perfect score in the levels because of this input delay, there looks to be a lot of replay value.

This game made me want to check out the other games in the series, it was super fun and I do like that you can play the whole thing in one sitting.
