Holy crap did this feel AAA. Samus returns was awesome, but it never felt like Nintendo funded it.

Pros:
- Combat is so much more fluid in this than Samus Returns.
- The enemies attack more naturally this time as well.
- Movement is actually sexy with the help of the slide and dash.
- The world is incredibly interconnected while also being fairly linear, which will appeal to all players.
- Cutscenes and story are absolutely top notch.
- There is so much nostalgia, without it feeling tacked on or forced.
- The graphics should not look this good on switch.
- Bosses are fast and deadly which is a breath of fresh air regarding recent Nintendo games.
- The ending (like most Metroid games) was near perfect.
- There are A LOT of distinct backgrounds in this game. I was in awe a lot of the time.
- Dynamic map! The areas change due to freezing and X.
- Difficulty scaling was spot on as bosses actually got more difficult as time went on.

Cons:
- Many routes are blocked off permanently which sucks for backtracking.
- They literally had lighting mechanics and DIDN'T have an E.M.M.I zone in darkness.
- E.M.M.Is in general could have been a little scarier for a game titled 'Dread'. Fusion had better tension.
- I still think that Samus returns had a slightly better final boss.
- I personally don't see the point in open maps if the game is linear. I just get lost for no reason.
- ZDR blew up for seemingly no reason.
- The map menu is the best out of the series, however the interface still could have been a little better.
- OST could have used a few more bangers.

I'm a newcomer to the franchise, and I don't really love any of the games. However Dread has perfectly taken the best aspects from each game.
