Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is an amazingly LONG game to experience with amazing characters.

Pyra is a loveable supportive wife, Mythra is a tough love, strict, and cute wife, Nia is a cute and tough wife, Morag is a badass reverse trap, Zeke is a loveable moron, Pandoria is a loveable smug goofball of a woman, Bridget is a wise and badass woman, Poppi is a lovable little robot who becomes a made and later an amazing badass cyborg woman, and Toras there too... (ngl Tora kind of meh).

The game presents characters from Torna in Malos, Mikhail, and Jin, who are planning on destroying the world. If you played Torna first, you might be a bit confused as to why, but it all connects lovely and allows you to understand why. In this game there are misunderstood villians with Malos, Jin, Amalthus, etc.

Rex is annoying at first, but later becomes a badass and loveable, especially with Pyra, Mythra and Nia.

The game is beautiful in visuals and animations. The gameplay is very fun but has the caviot of being VERY REPETITIVE to where you might get bored quick after fighting for a while.

The side quests are both very boring and unmemorable, except for the Blade quests because they feature cutscenes and are both very beautiful but also very sad, Vess's especially.

The gacha element for blades is very annoying, especially when attempting to get the rarest blade " KOS-MOS" from Xenosaga who cameos in this game as a blade.

The challenge mode is straight up awful and a cop out for developers in terms of having shulk and Fiora be locked behind this mode unless you complete a certain mission a certain amount of times, that allow you to unlock both of them in the base game.

The game is huge which is both a positive and a detriment to it, as the length and backtracking can get very annoying. I LOVE CUTSCENES but keep in kind cutscenes in this game are very long, which can actually impulse you to want to skip.

The worst part of the game which shows the games ridiculous length is chapter 4, it goes on AND ON AND ON, to the point where you will be like "when the fuck is this chapter going to he over already?" It's wayyy too long for its own good and is the worst chapter in the game, especially after the shocking chapter 3.

The biggest issue with the game is the Ludonarrative Dissonance when presented boss fights. The game shows you how you are defeating the enemy within the boss fight, but somehow Rex and Co, get their ass kicked in the cutscene? It's so stupid and can ruin the experience for a lot of people.
Die hard fans defend this by saying "gameplay isn't canon, the cutscenes are" in that case make an anime or movie if you're going to show something that doesn't related with what happened in gameplay. Other games have done boss fights where YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO LOSE! Like DRAGON QUEST 11 ECHOES OF AN ILLUSIVE AGE, where when fighting on the World Tree, you face a boss who, even after you try your best to defeat him, he will one shot your entire party, and even if you were to revive your party, you would still get one spotted because you're suppose to lose, after you lose a story cutscene plays immediately after. Xenoblade 2 should've have done this to eliminate the Ludonarrative Dissonance from the game.

The game has an amazing story, and becomes a self reflection of humanity. It even connects with the previous game in an interesting way which is amazing. The game is a joy to play, even with the problems I listed. I enjoyed every second of it. I can't wait to start Xenoblade 3, but I'm going to need a break before I go into it 😁🙏🏻❤️
