As someone who was mixed on Remake I was curious how this would fair. My favorite thing about Rebirth was revisiting locations I remember from the OG but in a more realistic size. The story as a whole is still great and the additions definitely add to the background and help make more sense of why they are happening. I genuinely loved the combat and felt like it was improved nicely since Remake.

For something’s I didn’t like I felt like there were times in the story that there was a tone shift from the original. While not ruining the story at all it definitely made some side stuff seem less impactful for me compared to before. The open world stuff was fine until I hit the third area and I just started focusing on the story instead. If an intel spot was on the way I’d do it but I got burnt out pretty fast.

For the money’s worth you’ll for sure get it as I dropped about close to 80 hours into it and that’s without doing all the side stuff. It’s a fun and beautiful game but didn’t blow me away like I was hoping it would.
