Damn, I don't want to go too hard into this game because they were working with the limitations of the time, but this is not the smoothest transition into a 3D platformer for this generation. See, things like Jumping Flash were able to cleverly avoid the issues with 3D movement with the vertical design and extremely generous jump or Crash Bandicoot adopting the 2.5 approach. Unfortunately, the gameplay here gives me echoes of the dreaded Bubsy 3D for the ways it handles tank controls & platforming, aka oil & water. Aesthetically, this game is wonderfully charming, with the cute mascot designs to the Animal Crossing moonspeak; and I think this could benefit hugely from a modern update (which I guess in a way is the Lucky's Tale games?) but on the gameplay front there were just too many frustrating hurdles for me to really stick with it.
