A good multiplayer and personally a story that I couldn't care less about, something I like about early Call of Duty is the "the war is bigger than you, you're just a soldier like the millions who die here" vibe, and Black ops 2 having a marked protagonist with a clear character arc is good in the sense that there is a story... but it's not at all what I like about Call of Duty.
