Hollow Knight was the first Metroidvania I played, and despite my very limited knowledge of the genre, I can confidently say that I started with a great game! Hollownest's world is both lovely and creepy, dangerous creatures lurking in every section of this amazingly interconnected map. The sense of exploration when you unlock a new skill and discover new areas is another excellent element in this game that was built by so few (and so talented) people.

In some areas, I thought the game became a tad tiresome. A couple of bosses were also more frustrating than fun. I admit that I might've not felt this if I were better acquainted with the genre. In any case, Hollow Knight is a work of passion and dedication, and I recommend every brave knight to visit Hallownest at least once.
