It’s so interesting that so many indie RPGs that are inspired by Yume Nikki have their protagonist fall at some point. Omori obviously has endings that directly parallel Yume Nikki but even Undertale has the trope at the very beginning of the game. It’s very interesting.

@Intoner_Flowers how have you not played Undertale? I thought everyone did. Anyway yah it’s great and has a bunch of inspiration form Yume Nikki… but at this point what doesn’t…

@Intoner_Flowers Once the entirety of Deltarune is complete and released it may be my favorite game ever if it continues on the trajectory that the first two chapters started. It’s legitimately my most anticipated game ever… and that’s saying something because I’m a Pikmin fan!
